11/6 — Jig and Troll Bite

We got an early start and headed out the inlet before the sun came up.

There were birds working the bouy chain outside the inlet and we stopped there for our first shot. Quickly put 3 fish in the box but I decided to continue up the beach. if you’ve ever seen the closing scene to “field of dreams” you’ll understand my decision. The steady stream of boats went back to the mainland.

Worked north for a few miles and had several birdplays to ourselves for an hour or so as long as we kept ahead of the crowds.

By 8:30am the boats had put the fish down and bites were much harder to come by.

The group called it a day early but had 15 stripers and as many blues as they cared to fight.
