3/15/13 — Topwater Bluefin

Well, we cancelled 11 trips in a row and this was the first after a long stretch of terrible weather.  We never really found huge schools of fish but we did manage to get a couple to eat.  We landed our first fish on a trolled ballyhoo behind a Joe Shute Lure and brought it to the boat after a 15 minute fight.  Stuck the gaff in a 71 incher and started looking around for fish to release.

After a couple of missed strikes on topwater lures, we managed to hook a nice one on a popping rod.  It took a bit more than an hour to get to the boat but we tagged and released a 76 inch Bluefin tuna.
